Two Simple Practices Can Make Your Tires Last Longer
There are two things that ruin your tires:
- Failure to rotate tires regularly
- Under-inflating tires
Rotate Tires Every 15,000 to 20,000 Miles
To make your tires last longer, rotate them three times over the life of the tires (or every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.) As tires wear, they get smaller in diameter and naturally become out of balance. Contact with potholes and curbs can accelerate this natural process.
When tires are out of balance, they may lose solid contact with the pavement. The suspension can overheat, the tires become hot, the car bounces… and shocks are fatigued. Now you have issues that go beyond tire wear.
